The Hôtel-Residence Château stands in the centre of Saint-Pierre, surrounded by two monuments of the most inspiring and photographed buildings in the all Aosta Valley: the castles of Saint-Pierre and Sarriod de la Tour.

Both the castles are visible from most of the hotel rooms, hence our name Hotel-Residence Château. Since three generations the Hotel has been run by the same family of hoteliers, who tirelessly offer their guests the many activities available in the territory, in both summer and winter.

Its strategic position in the centre of the Aosta Valley, as if it were an ancient “castle”, a shelter for wayfarers, makes the “Château” an ideal stopover for visiting guests setting out for France, Switzerland and Italy.

OUR “CASTLE”

An adventure begun in far off 1929, when Mr. Louis Cognein, a well-known cattle merchant, bought the property, at that time called “Trattoria della rosa”. Later, in 1950, as a simple refreshment point for travellers going beyond the Alps, the building grew, becoming an accomodation structure and taking on the unmistakable architecture we still admire. Recently, in 2004, the latest renovation enriches the offer by adding the residence-style kitchenettes in the rooms.

The “Château”, as it is commonly called by the inhabitants of the Aosta Valley and by the many tourists who have been its guests, is a true “pearl of history” of Valdostan hospitality and has always been a reference point for summer holidays and winter week-ends .
